How the time card math works
- Daily hours — clock-out − clock-in − unpaid break. 9:00→17:00 with a 30-min lunch = 7:30 (7.5 decimal).
- Overtime — hours past your weekly threshold (40 h default) are overtime; each week is evaluated on its own in biweekly mode.
- Estimated pay — regular hours × rate + overtime hours × rate × multiplier (1.5× by default). Optional — leave the rate blank to skip.
Why use TimeCardCalc?
- Both formats — h:mm for humans, decimal hours for payroll.
- Breaks handled — unpaid lunch minutes are subtracted per day, not eyeballed.
- Private — your hours and rate stay in your browser; there is no account and no upload.
FAQ
Can I enter an overnight shift?
Yes — if the clock-out is earlier than the clock-in (e.g. 22:00 → 06:00), the day wraps past midnight automatically.
Does it handle different hours every day?
Yes — every day has its own in/out/break fields, and empty days simply count as zero.
Is my data saved?
It autosaves in your own browser's local storage so you can come back to it — nothing is stored on a server.
Can I print the timesheet?
Pro unlocks a clean printable report of the whole period — handy for attaching to payroll or expense claims.
